The Dodge Challenger Demon officially exited production earlier this year, which likely left a lot of enthusiasts without an 840-horsepower street-legal drag racer in their lives. Don’t fret because Mecum has an auction lot that should remedy the situation.
The auction house will see off a pair of Dodge Challenger Demons at the Monterey event. Both cars are nearly brand new with number 1045 showing 43 miles and the number 1042 just 77 miles. Both cars are still covered in dealer-prep tape and plastic; it’s the closest someone will get to actually taking delivery from a Dodge dealership.
Both Dodge Challenger Demons are nearly identical, though one of the two sports a blackout package, which douses the hood, roof and other components in black. Otherwise, the cars each sport the comfort audio package, race adjustable suspension and TorRed exterior color. Both Demons also come with the coveted “Demon Crate” full of Demon-branded tools, powertrain control module with high-octane engine calibration and wheels.
Dealers were supposed to honor an MSRP of $86,000 when the Demon was on sale, though heavy markups still persisted. Mecum estimates both cars will sell for around $275,000, which could be the deal of the decade when two Demons are sitting in the driveway. Mecum Monterey opens August 23.
