Mopar and fans of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise should keep an eye on an upcoming auction. The 1970 Dodge Challenger as seen in the fourth film, “Fast and Furious,” and driven by Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto character, will cross the auction block on August 25.
The car is actually a 1969 Dodge Charger made to look like a 1970 model, but the fact doesn’t change how downright badass the car looks. The car is completely drivable, too, but the blower sitting atop the hood is only a replica. Underneath the fake blower is a 440 cubic inch V8 engine pushing 430 horsepower. A rebuilt 727 automatic transmission handles shifts.
Other upgrades to the movie car include a full roll cage, fuel cell, Baird racing seats, and Wilwood front brakes.
The auction takes place this Saturday and interested parties can register to bid here. So far, the opening bid for the star car sits at $10,000.
