Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Sebastian Vettel was seen with Richard Hammond and James May of The Grand Tour (on Amazon Prime Video) at a refueling station in Towcester, UK on Monday, apparently shooting a scene for the popular series. The scene seems to revolve around Hammond and May’s personal cars: May’s Ferrari 458 Speciale, and Hammond’s 1963 Opel Kadett. In the above clip, Hammond can be seen casually nudging his Opel closer to the four-time F1 World Champion as he chats with May about his Ferrari.
Vettel is just coming off a win at the 2018 British Grand Prix, where the German driver managed to widen his lead over longtime rival Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes-AMG in the Drivers’ Championship standings. Scuderia Ferrari has now pulled ahead in the Constructors’ Championship standings, too, thanks to a strong finish from fellow Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen.
Production is currently underway on what will be The Grand Tour‘s third season, and a November/December release date for the season is expected. The series is a competitor to the BBC’s Top Gear, which Hammond and May hosted alongside fellow Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson until Clarkson was dismissed following a behind-the-scenes “fracas” with a producer.
