California-based supercar-maker Rezvani Motors has introduced a new “Military Edition” of its already-militant TANK truck model, perfect for the wealthy anarchist looking to mount an insurrection, or simply empower his or her existing private militia. Like the regular, non-Military-Edition version of the truck revealed last year, it rolls on tires rather than tracks, making it theoretically suitable for normal road use, and power comes from a choice of either a normally-aspirated, 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 500 horsepower, or a supercharged, 6.2-liter Hellcat unit with 707 horsepower.
So what sets the Military Edition apart from the standard Rezvani TANK? Superfluous occupant-protection equipment, that’s what. The Military Edition sports ballistic level-7 opaque glass and body armor, explosives underbody protection, blinding lights, magnetic dead-bolt door locks, electrified door handles, and more. Military-grade run-flat tires defend against punctures, and a set of gas masks, first-aid kits, and a hypothermia kit help protect occupants from potential hazards.
We’re not entirely sure who Rezvani’s target buyer is, but we’re quite certain we’d never want to meet them.
Given its extensive list of military-style equipment, one might get to thinking that the Rezvani TANK Military Edition must have a pretty inhospitable, spartan interior. Alas, one would be wrong. An available Leather Package offers ten different leather seat styles to choose from, along with a suede headliner, suggesting that style and comfort are anything but afterthoughts. An optional Convenience Package adds power side steps that open and close automatically to help with ingress and egress.
In addition to those, there’s also an available Off Road Package, bringing together a 6-inch lift kit with FOX 2.5-inch Remote Reservoir dampers, 37-by-12.5-inch tires, Dynatrac ProRock axles with electronic lockers, and upgraded driveshafts.
The brand-new Rezvani TANK Military Edition will start at $295k US – $136k more than the standard TANK – with the upgrade from 6.4L Hemi to 6.2L Hellcat requiring another $65k. It is, quite simply, one of the most bonkers vehicles that’s ever been offered to the public – but hey, if you need to be well-protected against any apocalyptic potentiality, the Military Edition, in conjunction with a well-stocked, remote bomb shelter, will probably get the job done.
