For 2019, Fiat Chrysler’s Dodge brand has tweaked its three-row Durango CUV lineup, and that includes the potent, Hemi-powered sledgehammer that is the Dodge Durango SRT. The engine is still the same, producing up to 475 horsepower from 392 cubic inches (6.4 liters) of displacement, and motivating the full-size utiliy vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in a scant 4.4 seconds, but the 2019 model year brings with it new aesthetic and performance options buyers are sure to love.
New for 2019, the Dodge Durango SRT will be available with racy red seat belts and an 825-watt, 19-speaker audio system from Harman Kardon – you know, in case your optional Mopar performance exhaust isn’t already getting you enough attention on the road. A new, 20-inch wheel design will also be available, in either a Matte Vapor or Brass Monkey finish, as will a new high-performance brake upgrade with two-piece rotors, removing some unsprung mass at each corner.
The Dodge Durango SRT already comes standard with a powerful Brembo brake system featuring six-piston front/four-piston rear calipers and vented discs.
Additional standard performance equipment that will carry over into 2019 includes an active Bilstein damping system, stiffer front and rear springs, a beefy rear sway bar, performance-tuned AWD, and a specially-tuned exhaust that lends the sporty three-row a deep, distinctive bellow. Inside, the Dodge Durango SRT boasts a race-inspired flat-bottom performance steering wheel, and standard paddle shifters to give the driver manual control over the behavior of the ute’s eight-speed automatic. The upholstery is a blend of suede, Laguna Leather, silver accent stitching, genuine carbon-fiber accents, and velour-bound floor mats.
Orders for the 2019 Dodge Durango – including SRT – are now open, with deliveries set to begin this fall.
