Do you fancy yourself a real Ferdinand Magellan-type? If so, you might get a kick out of the latest special-edition vehicle model to come out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: the new, 2018 Fiat 500X “Adventurer Edition”. Based on the already intrepid-sounding Trekking model, the new Fiat 500X Adventurer Edition sees Fiat’s tiny crossover graced with new, rugged-looking add-ons and a delicious, distinctly Italian color palette, all in the name of personalization.
The Fiat 500X Adventurer Edition – like the standard Trekking model – comes standard with a 2.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission, with the option of adding all-wheel drive with a de-coupling rear axle. Four exterior colors are available: Bianco Gelato (White Clear Coat), Nero Cinema (Black Clear Coat), Grigio Graphite (Graphite Grey), and Grigio Argentino (Grey Metallic). But no matter which hue is selected, the outside of the crossover is spiffed up with distinctive (and funky) orange mirror caps, orange body-side graphics, black roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels, and splash guards.
“With all-wheel-drive confidence, best-in-class standard horsepower and torque and comfortable seating for five, the Italian-designed Fiat 500X is fun to drive,” says FCA’s North American Head of Passenger Car Brands Steve Beahm. “Built off the Trekking model, the new Adventurer package offers rugged, adventurous styling and yet another opportunity for customers to personalize their Fiat 500X.”
The 2018 Fiat 500X Adventurer Edition will be available starting this summer, at $945 more than the price of a non-Adventurer 500X Trekking. The 500X Trekking starts at $23,685 – or $25,585 with all-wheel drive.
