Livernois Motorsports and Engineering – a speed shop in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, near Detroit – says it’s become the first to market with a selection of performance upgrade packages for the Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. More impressive, at the top end of the product range is a $5,649 package that boosts peak output by 250 horsepower and 205 lb-ft, taking the 707-hp (stock) Trackhawk up to nearly 1,000 horsepower on E85.
Starting with the most basic/budget-friendly of Livernois Motorsports’ Trackhawk packages, the “S900” package adds 135 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque to the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk’s 707 hp/645 lb-ft. The package lumps together Powertrain Control Module (PCM) tuning, an EvenFlo thermostat, Innovators West harmonic balancer upgrade with an overdrive crank pulley and pinning system, and Injector Dynamics ID1050X injectors.
Move up to the $4,449 S975 package and you net an extra 200 horsepower and 175 lb-ft, thanks to the same components as S900, plus a Livernois Powerstorm supercharger pulley. On the top rung of the ladder is the S1025 package, which adds 250 horsepower and 205 lb-ft of torque on E85 by including a Flex Fuel upgrade and swapping out the Injector Dynamics ID1050X injectors for an ID1300X set.
“We’re proud to lead the industry with engine upgrades for the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk,” says Livernois Motorsports’ General Manager, Tom Millen. “We created these systems to be easily installed and deliver uncompromising drivability, along with their tremendous power increases.”
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk – already a potent, hellacious SUV straight from the factory – can be made into a truly fearsome dragstrip machine with just a careful selection of parts and some clever tuning from Livernois Motorsports and Engineering.
