Alfa Romeo will celebrate its Nürburgring production vehicle records with a couple of special new Nürburgring Edition models based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan and Stelvio Quadrifoglio crossover, the company has revealed, each limited to 108 examples – one for every year of Alfa Romeo’s long and celebrated history.
It’s worth mentioning that the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio no longer holds the record for the fastest production sedan around the Nordschleife, having been beaten by the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 late last year, 7:21 to 7:32.
Regardless, Alfa Romeo will honor its rather short-lived record with a Nürburgring Edition model, featuring an exclusive Circuito Grey exterior finish, along with side mirror caps, side skirt inserts, and a front “NRING” badge all made of lightweight carbon fiber. The roof will also be rendered in carbon fiber, marking a first for the high-powered, sporty sedan. Tinted windows, active cruise control, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Harmon Kardon audio with an 8.8-inch infotainment system will come standard, along with plenty of carbon-fiber interior inserts, Sparco racing seats with a carbon shell and red stitching, and Mopar floor mats with a special red logo. An exclusive numbered badge will be affixed to the dashboard.
The Nürburgring Edition model of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, whose 7:51.7 Nordschleife record is still very much intact, will pack much of the same equipment, save for the bare carbon-fiber roof. It, too, will be shod in Circuito Grey and given carbon-fiber side mirror caps, side skirt inserts, and front “NRING” badge. As on the Giulia Nürburgring Edition, the interior will feature carbon-shell Sparco racing seats, tinted windows, active cruise, Harmon Kardon audio – the works.
Both Nürburgring Edition models – the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING, and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING – will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland from later in the month.
