Rumor has it that Dodge and SRT are cooking up even more dragstrip-oriented versions of the Dodge Challenger SRT 392, Hellcat, and Hellcat Widebody for 2019, dubbed “Drag Pack”. According to AutoGuide, which received some insider info via its forums at Hellcat.org, each of the three new Drag Pack models will receive 75% of the unique content of the new Challenger SRT Demon, including its “Air Grabber” hood, and possibly its high-performance Nitto tires, liquid-to-air intercooler, Torque Reserve, and TransBrake.
But while what content the rumored Drag Pack Challenger SRT models might receive is conjecture at this point, the notion that such models are in the works is a bit more substantiated; AutoGuide recently managed to get its hands on some spy photos depicting what appear to be several Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Drag Pack prototypes. Two of the prototypes have the flared fender arches and split-spoke wheels of the Hellcat Widebody; one has a “Nitto” windshield banner, lending credence to the theory that the Drag Packs could don that company’s performance tires; and all three have the telltale faux-headlight intakes of the SRT Hellcat.
You can see the spy photos yourself over at AutoGuide.com.
The Dodge Challenger SRT 392, Hellcat, and Hellcat Widebody models are expected to bow later this year before going on sale as 2019 model-year vehicles. Check back here for more as this story develops.
