The Dodge Durango SRT – FCA’s 475-horsepower sledgehammer of a mid-size crossover – and milder Durango R/T will receive a few sporty new factory options and Mopar doodads later in 2018, with a new Mopar performance exhaust system, dual-center exterior stripe package, and more either available now or going on sale in the coming months.
Mopar Performance Exhaust
A new Mopar performance exhaust system is already available for the Dodge Durango R/T at an MSRP of $1,595, with an equivalent bolt-on kit for the hotter set to launch in the second quarter of 2018 at $1,850. The systems have been designed and engineered with the help of Dodge//SRT engineers to improve exhaust gas flow and enhance the sound of each sporty CUV’s V8 engine. They’re constructed from chromium 304 stainless for good looks and corrosion resistance.
Dual-Center Exterior Stripes
Again offered for both the Durango SRT and R/T, a new exterior stripe package will become available starting this March, adding a pair of thick racing stripes that run from the front fascia and hood up over the roof, to the tailgate, and down to the bottom of the rear fascia. The stripes are “tailored to the signature NACA duct hood vent,” in FCA’s own words, and will be available in five colors: Bright Blue, Flame Red, Gunmetal Low Gloss, Low Gloss Black, and Sterling Silver. MSRP in the US will be $1,195.
Mopar Performance Lowering Springs
Designed specially for the Dodge Durango SRT, Mopar’s forthcoming performance lowering spring kit will go on sale this March with a $325 MSRP. The kit will only lower the ride height by about 15 mm, leaving the vehicle perfectly usable on the street still, while the lower center of gravity will improve handling, and the more squat stance ought to help bolster the crossover’s presence.
SRT Interior Appearance Group
A new interior appearance package for the Durango SRT will become available for orders starting this month with a $2,495 MSRP. The new eqipment group will deliver a premium-wrapped instrument panel with authentic carbon-fiber bezels, carbon-fiber door bezels, a Dinamica-wrapped headliner, and accent-painted speaker trim rings.
