At the Dallas Auto Show this week, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles pulled the wraps off of the all-new, 2019 RAM 1500 Lone Star. The Texas-exclusive model happens to be RAM’s best-selling truck in the state, although citizens of the other 49 oughtn’t necessarily feel left out; it’s essentially a RAM 1500 Big Horn with special badging, putting it one slot above the bare-bones, work-focused Tradesman model.
On the outside, the 2019 RAM 1500 Lone Star features bright front and rear bumpers, chrome door handle centers, a bright grille surround with billet inserts, standard fog lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Optional, monochromatic Sport and Black appearance packages lend buyers some flexibility in tailoring the appearance to their own sensibilities. Inside, the Lone Star boasts a 60/40 split rear bench seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Front-row seating can be spec’d as either a three-person bench, or bucket seating for two.
Additional options for the 2019 RAM 1500 Lone Star include a Bed Utility Group, 4×4 Off-road Group, Protection Group, Trailer Tow Mirrors and Brake Group, Max Towing Package, and Premium Lighting Group. Also on offer are a class-exclusive Active Level Air Suspension, electric-locking rear, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The all-new RAM 1500 Lone Star will go on sale in the first quarter of this year, initially with FCA’s 5.7-liter Hemi V8 the only powerplant of choice (with or without the eTorque mild-hybrid system). FCA’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque will become available at a later date.
