Readers of The Detroit News have selected two Fiat Chrysler vehicles – the Chrysler Pacifica, and the new-for-2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon – as “Readers’ Choice Awards” winners at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon won “Baddest Off-Road Vehicle”, while the Chrysler Pacifica won the title of “Best Family Fun Finder”.
The Chrysler Pacifica minivan, launched for 2017, is no stranger to the spotlight; it’s already been given a number of honors, including the 2017 “North American Utility Vehicle of the Year” award, and Cars.com’s “Best of 2017”. Now, it’s in the spotlight yet again, wooing Detroit News‘ readers with its upscale look and feel, seating for up to eight, and its optional panoramic sunroof and dual-screen second row entertainment system. We’re sure the available “Stow N’ Vac” integrated vacuum cleaner didn’t hurt.
The all-new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is FCA’s latest bar-setting off-roader, which builds on the capability of its JK-generation predecessor with a lighter curb weight, sleeker styling, and an updated interior. It’s stayed true to its roots with removable doors, removable and power-folding roof options, and a list of serious off-roading equipment that includes front and rear axles from Dana and a Rock-Trac transfer case.
