A photograph purporting to show the all-new, 2019 RAM 1500 in production-ready guise has leaked on website Reddit, courtesy of member Eisenj. The photo shows a front-three-quarter view of the pickup, and both the grille and front bumper cover appear to match what we saw earlier in the month from a spy photo depicting the new truck’s fresh front-end styling, with a chrome-finish bumper cover and a hexagonal-shaped grille with horizontal slots and the “RAM” name featured prominently in the center. The headlights, with their more orthogonal projectors, also look familiar from past spy shots.
The prominence of the chrome-finish trim leads us to believe that this truck could be one of the higher-trim-level variants of the 2019 RAM 1500; we don’t expect that the base truck will feature quite this much polish. This particular example might also be equipped with an optional tow package, our friends at Jalopnik suspect, as the wing mirrors are extended quite far out from the sides of the cabin.
What we don’t see in this leaked photograph is the rear of the 2019 RAM 1500, where a radical new split tailgate is expected to be available on some models. The feature was first previewed in an FCA patent filing from 2014, and has since been seen on prototype trucks on several occasions.
The all-new, 2019 RAM 1500 is expected to debut in earnest on Monday, January 15th at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. We’ll have more for you then, so stay tuned.
