After months of leaks, spy shots and other information, the 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler debuted at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show last month. While many components gracing the SUV are equally important, the tires are paramount.
And as if the SUV isn’t tough enough, Goodyear will supply two tire sizes for the 2018 Wrangler with Kevlar. Goodyear’s Wrangler AT Adventure tires with Kevlar maximize the tires’ strength and traction in wet and snowy conditions. The 2018 Wrangler also boasts Goodyear’s Durawall technology to prevent cuts in the tire’s sidewall.
It’s the latest in a long history between Jeep and Goodyear. The tire company first supplied tires for the vehicles in 1941 for the Willys Quad prototype. “Working closely with automobile manufacturers to deliver innovative products for leading vehicles like this is a key component of Goodyear’s strategy,” Johann Finkelmeier, Goodyear’s vice president of North America Original Equipment, said.
The Goodyear tires will receive power from a choice of three different engines: a 3.6-liter V6, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine. We can’t wait to see how the package all comes together.
