It’s the question on every Jeep fan’s lips: How much will the all-new, 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL cost? Fiat Chrysler’s rugged SUV brand has yet to announce pricing for the redesigned off-roader, but given the very meaningful improvements that have been made to the body, interior, and powertrain lineup, one might assume the Wrangler’s MSRP will receive a bump as it enters a new generation.
That assumption is correct, as it turns out; a couple of spy photos of a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4×4, uploaded to JL Wrangler Forums, reveal a window sticker with an astonishing $45k base price for the four-door SUV. That’s $10,755 more than a base 2017 Wrangler Unlimited in the same spec – money that could be better spent buying a very decent TJ so you’d have something to drive on the weekends.
We have no reason to suspect the window sticker is fake. However, there is one rather big caveat: the sticker seems to list a whole slew of optional extras without any pricing breakdown. This has led many on the forums to conclude that the Monroney doesn’t tell the whole story, and that in fact, the printed “base price” is actually the price including options.
As far as we can tell, that would mean the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Sahara will get a price bump within the $2k to $4k range. That would put the starting MSRP closer to $36k-$38k, which is more in-line with what’s expected.
We’ll just have to wait until Jeep announces official pricing information to find out.
