This custom-built 1970 Dodge Charger, dubbed “Punishment,” is best known for being among the Top 15 Muscle Cars at the 2012 SEMA show, though it has other accolades under its belt, including Goodguys award titles. Last month the car sold for a hefty $176,000 USD at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas.
Altogether there’s been $380,000 USD invested in this Dodge Charger, which features a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 making 620 horsepower. The Hemi V8 is matted to a tried-and-true Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and Dana rear end. A Chevy C6 Corvette K-member sits up front, while a custom 4-link and Panhard bar make up the rear. And what’s a big performance build without 14-inch Wilwood disc brakes and 6-piston calipers?
But there’s much more to this Dodge Charger than its performance goodies, as it exhibits great attention to detail. For instance, the car flaunts custom carbon-fiber bumpers, carbon exhaust tips, a 2010 Dodge Challenger taillight assembly, and a simple yet handsome Metallic Gray finish.
A ton of custom fabrication went into this build, and altogether there’s been $380,000 invested in it. Sounds like its new owner got a pretty good deal after all, wouldn’t you say?
