For SEMA 2017, the Wisconsin-based tuning firm known as SpeedKore Performance brought a Dodge Demon with a full carbon fiber body, a.k.a. the ultimate weight-reduction mod. As you probably know, carbon fiber isn’t exactly cheap. Just the hood and front bumper will cost you $5,000 USD, and you’ll need another $12,000 to purchase the rest of the carbon fiber components listed on SpeedKore’s website (which doesn’t include doors).
That’s a bit of coin, but when you consider the fact that a factory-stock Dodge Demon is capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in just 2.3-seconds, or the fact that it can run the quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds, you start to see how beneficial the lighter weight can be.
The Demon certainly has more than enough power, though we expect SpeedKore to up the ante a bit. Last year’s Challenger, which was dubbed the SpeedKore 10, was available with up to 1,100 horsepower.
