You see, the fellas at The Fast Lane Car decided to pit the Italian-built Jeep Renegade against the Mexican-built Jeep Compass in a little off-roading excursion. Both Jeeps have been equipped with the Trailhawk package, which enhances their off-road capabilities. This means they both have the same 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine, which makes 184 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, and it’s matted to a 9-speed automatic transmission. And, of course, both the Jeep Compass and Renegade Trailhawk models are equipped with the super cool terrain management system.
There are also cosmetic enhancements brought on for both vehicles when equipped with the Trailhawk package, including red tow hooks, matte black accenting, and ‘Trail Rated’ badging. Notable differences include the Renegade’s extra 0.2-inches of ground-clearance, and the extra $4,000 it allows you to keep in your bank account should you choose to purchase it over the Compass.
Go ahead and hit play to see the review for yourself. It’s more entertaining than you might expect, plus the guys decided to throw in a little drag racing between the two Jeeps for good measure. Spoiler alert: they’re both very slow.
