The Edmunds Most Wanted Vehicle awards recognize the most in-demand vehicles in 17 different segments, basing the selections on sales, days-to-turn and shopper interest data on Edmunds from the first nine months of 2017. This year the Chrysler 300 came away as the 2018 Edmunds Most Wanted Vehicle in the Large Car segment, and received praise for its technological offerings and appealing exterior design.
“Bold and aggressive, the Chrysler 300 stands out in a class of largely look-alike sedans, and its originality makes it one of the most popular large cars on the market,” said Jessica Caldwell, executive director of industry analysis, Edmunds.
One of the technological features that helped the Chrysler 300 earn this award is the Uconnect 4 system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and an award-winning interface. There’s also the segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle-disconnect system which were engineered to improve real-world fuel economy and allow for seamless transitions between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive engagement.
The sophisticated all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is available on the Touring, Touring L, 300S and Limited models. Standard options depend on which trim level you go with, though every model does come equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 matted to the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission. The 5.7 Hemi V8 is available for S models and standard for the 300 C.
