At the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show today, Mopar unveiled some of the more-than-200 accessories that will be made available for the all-new, 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) – a vehicle that hasn’t even been unveiled yet. Fiat Chrysler says the parts are the culmination of more than 100k hours of development, validation, and testing, and they run the gamut from Jeep Performance Parts like lift kits and bead-lock-capable wheels, to Mopar accessories like cargo carriers and vehicle graphics kits.
Jeep Performance Parts
Jeep Performance Parts introduced today include LED off-road lights in 5- and 7-inch applications, capable of putting out up to 8,000 lumens’ worth of photons to illuminate the path ahead. These can be mounted to the frame rails, winch guard, or windshield using new off-road light brackets, and power is available from a new auxiliary switch bank with a power distribution center.
In addition, Mopar unveiled brand-new Jeep Performance Parts rock rails, which are thicker and wider to protect the body, coated in the same durable stuff used in Ram’s truck bedliners. Still more off-road protection is delivered by a Wrangler Rubicon off-road bumper. Five-spoke, 17-inch off-road wheels in silver and black were also unveiled today, although if you really plan on getting into it, there’s also a new set of bead-lock-capable alloy wheels, also measuring 17 inches in diameter, and capable of accepting oversized tires.
And finally, a two-inch lift kit for the all-new Jeep Wrangler JL was shown, which – when paired with high-top fender flares – can reportedly accommodate tires up to 37 inches in diameter.
Mopar today introduced a new roof rack for the all-new, 2018 Jeep Wrangler – a first from the FCA parts division. Lifestyle cargo carriers for things like skis, snowboards, and bicycles will be available for easy mounting to the roof rack.
Another first: a Mopar tailgate table. The new accessory flips out from the tailgate, providing a quick and easy raised surface for utilization.
Additionally, Mopar introduced a new-and-improved emergency first-aid kit, roadside assistance kit, mesh and solid bikini tops for protection from the sun, new screen protectors for the in-car infotainment system, tire covers in a variety of different designs, floor mats, cargo trays, grab handles, fuel doors, and available vehicle graphics.
“An iconic vehicle such as Jeep Wrangler deserves nothing but the best, which is why the Mopar and Jeep brands have developed a new set of product solutions to meet the unique lifestyles of Wrangler owners,” says Mopar Head of Parts and Service Pietro Gorlier. “From Jeep Performance Parts like winches and wheels to accessories such as bikini tops and tailgate tables, Mopar has incorporated input from Wrangler owners in bringing to the marketplace the most powerful, reliable and authentic lineup of accessories and performance parts available.”
All of the aforementioned Jeep Wrangler products are on display now at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for more from the 2017 SEMA Show floor.
