Here in the states, the Dodge Viper’s aluminum 8.3-liter V-10 sells for $7,000 to $10,000, and that’s just for the engine itself. By comparison, the package deal in question includes a complete engine with accessories, harness, plus computer, and it’s still mated to the 6-speed manual transmission. The shifter even has the knob. To top it all off, the parts have just 10,000 miles on them.
In other words, this is the perfect bundle for someone itching to do a ridiculously awesome swap, like the Swedish-built Viper V10-powered Saab 9-3 SportCombi. Or perhaps someone will do something a bit more controversial, like stuffing it into a classic Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, or Maserati.
