The Jeep Compass received the highest possible ratings for crashworthiness and collision-warning technology. This is thanks to a high-strength steel content that exceeds 65 percent, as pointed out by Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global. Manley went on to say that this steel content also speaks to the level of engineering sophistication that makes the Compass the most capable small SUV ever.
In addition to its rigid structure, the Jeep Compass also offers 70 available safety and security features, including seven standard-equipment air bags and the available Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) technology, which utilizes sensor-fusion technology.
“Sensor-fusion combines the attributes of radar technology and cameras, while most competitive systems use one or the other,” says Mark Chernoby, Chief Technical Compliance Officer – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. “This approach affords greater precision for monitoring the road ahead.”
The Jeep Compass may not offer the same thrills as a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but if you’re looking for a solid, safe, and sound purchase, then you’ll surely want to consider the all-new Compass.
