Garage Italia Customs – a shop based in Milan, Italy – is known for its top-dollar creations, which include boats, bikes, cars, and even aircraft.
The firm recently auctioned off a custom Fiat 500 inspired by fashion designer Angela Missoni, whose parents founded Garage Italia Customs. Missoni is best-known for her vibrant designs that implement geometric patterns, and these cues were translated into the exterior and interior of the 500.
The colorful Fiat 500 was first presented on September 21st at a charity event organized by amfAR. Missoni hosted the event, which has raised over $12 million for AIDS research since it first started. The proceeds from the Missoni-inspired Fiat auction contributed to this amount, which was about $60,000 according to several media outlets.
We can’t say we find the design of this Fiat 500 appealing even in the slightest, but we’re happy to hear it was able to generate support for a very worthy cause.
