Up first is the Ford, and while the 475-horsepower Durango SRT came away with the win, we think it was a close race that could’ve gone either way. It’s worth noting that we recently watched the Ford F-150 EcoBoost – which is less powerful than a Raptor – claim victories against a handful of impressive performance cars at the strip, including a Challenger Hellcat.
When the Durango SRT gets its turn to dance with the Hellcat, things get a bit smokey as video host Andre roasts the tires through the entire straight-away where the races are being filmed. The short distance compounds the lack of traction, and the Hellcat isn’t able to make up enough ground for a comeback win.
It might not be the race Hellcat fans were hoping to see, but this gives us great insight into where most folks will try to utilize all of this performance: from one red light to the next.
