Dodge has been testing peculiar prototypes the past few months. On two occasions we’ve spotted the 2018 Challenger Demon testing without its typical wide-body kit. Or, you could say it’s a Challenger Hellcat with Demon power.
Spy photos confirm it’s not simply a Challenger Hellcat with the Demon’s “air grabber hood,” but we suppose it’s possible Dodge could make the Demon’s air-grabber hood an official accessory. It might explain why the prototypes caught testing are mixing and matching various parts from the Hellcat and Demon.
It also seems likely since we have no reason to believe Dodge would begin work on a more-powerful Demon variant without the muscle car’s massive 315 tires.
It’s a plausible theory that the air-grabber hood might soon be accessible to Hellcat owners, but we won’t know what Dodge is up to until it actually decides to be more forthcoming.
