The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is 5,300-pound SUV that can sprint to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. And as if that wasn’t already bonkers enough for you, Hennessey Performance’s HPE1000 package cuts the Trackhawk‘s 0-60 sprint down to a mere 2.8 seconds while blitzing the quarter mile in just 10.5 seconds. Mind you, these supercar-like performance figures are for an SUV… an SU-fricken-V.
The performance gains come courtesy of a 4.5-liter supercharger pushing 14 pounds of boost through the 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The Trackhawk HPE1000 package also includes stainless-steel long-tube headers, bigger injectors, a boost-a-pump factory fuel pump upgrade, high-flow air induction system, and of course tuning by Hennessey. The end result is 852 horsepower and 845 pound-feet of torque – a feat that probably wasn’t all that difficult Hennessey given that it already has similar HPE850 and HPE1000 upgrades for the Charger and Challenger.
It isn’t cheap, but the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk HPE1000 is an extremely versatile vehicle that can complete the task of multiple vehicles, meaning you can take it to the strip, daily drive it, and load all of your luggage into it during a weekend trip to the country.
