According to one Instagram comment and Car Scoops, this 458 was actually used as the LaFerrari test mule, though it doesn’t utilize the KERS hybrid system. Greg shared this tidbit, along with the allegation that this particular Ferrari 458 cannot be driven on the road, and is to only be tracked during his first two years of ownership.
Upon creeping through Greg’s Instagram feed, we found that the earliest he mentions this Ferrari 458 is back in December of 2016, which means there’s probably at least 12 to 15 months until the V12-powered 458 is allowed to be registered.
We’ll keep you posted on any findings we make regarding this interesting find. So far it looks like everything checks out, though we’ll remain skeptical until more information emerges. Until then, you can keep up with all other Ferrari news here at Fiat Chrysler Authority. Happy reading!
