During the month of September Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK is offering trade-in incentives as part of a scrappage scheme, which is intended to move product while also curbing pollution generated by automotive transportation. Americans may understand it better as a “Cash for Clunkers” program.
“FCA has always been at the forefront of engine technology, so with this offer we plan to take the worst-polluting cars off the road while giving our customers the benefit of driving cars with lower emissions and improved fuel economy,” said Ashley Andrew, Managing Director FCA UK.
In order to be eligible for trade-in, vehicles must be:
- Euro 1-4 Petrol or Diesel, registered before 31st December 2009
- Owned by the current driver for more than 180 days
- The V5C of the part exchange address must match the details on the new vehicle invoice
Discounts of up to £5,300 will be available on eligible select Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Jeep vehicles. We’ve taken the liberty of sharing the complete list of eligible vehicles below, along with exclusions and corresponding discounts:

With these discounts, FCA joins a handful of other automakers offering similar incentives to European shoppers, including Volkswagen, Ford, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda, Seat, Audi, Vauxhall, Renault, and Toyota.
