In 2002, Ram was the first and only brand to introduce a Texas-exclusive pickup truck with the Ram Lone Star Edition. At this year’s Texas State Fair, it returned with yet another Texas-only pickup: the 2018 Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver Edition.
The Ram Lone Star Silver Edition builds upon the pickup’s traditional heavy-duty design and offers more premium upgrades. Notably, the Lone Star Silver Edition adds a “luxury grille” with a chrome surround and wave mesh inserts. Bright belt moldings, chrome exterior side-view mirrors, chrome wheel-to-wheel side steps, polished 20-inch wheels and front tow hooks round out the major appearance upgrades.
However, it wouldn’t be a Texas-only truck without a stamp of the Lone Star state itself. The front grille features an aluminum Lone Star badge to signify itself.
The Lone Star Silver Edition will be available on Ram 2500 and 3500 models with 4×2 and 4×4 Crew Cab with a choice of three engines: the 5.7-liter V8, 6.4-liter V8 or the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine with 930 pound-feet of torque. Pricing for the truck starts at $46,130, including destination. Just remember, this is only for Texas. Outsiders need not apply.
