In a strange turn of events, Dodge has been spied testing something quite interesting. Spy shots show a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat roaming about with power from the Dodge Demon.
In fact, the test mule also sports the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon‘s “Air Grabber” hood. What’s going on here? We’re not entirely sure. However, spy shots confirm the Dodge Challenger Hellcat was indeed sporting 808 horsepower, thanks to infotainment screen. It clearly reads “808” under the power readings. That’s exactly the amount of horsepower on tap when running pump gas with the Demon’s 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine. For the full 840 hp, race fuel is required.
Even more interesting is the fact this test mule isn’t sporting the Dodge Challenger Hellcat’s optional wide body outfittings, which mirrors the Dodge Demon. This looks to be a completely standard-issue Hellcat with a major power increase via the Demon.
Could it have something to do with the fact Fiat-Chrysler has moved to trademark the “Angel” name? We don’t know, but this certainly piques our interest.
