Although most of its success was seen outside of the United States, the Fiat 500 has made a name for itself over the past 60 years. To celebrate the car’s 60th birthday, Fiat has thrown together a special 500 model.
The Fiat 500-60th celebrates the iconic nameplate, which would become the Italian equivalent to the Volkswagen Beetle. The limited edition model features a two-tone, white and cream color palette which is split by an Italian flag pinstripe—a small, but thoughtful touch the car’s heritage. Additionally, 16-inch alloy wheels are outfitted to the 500-60th. Inside, the interior takes a few cues from yesteryear.
Inside, the interior takes a few cues from yesteryear. The red dashboard and ivory seats are a classic interior combination from the original Fiat 500. Overall, it does look quite good.
The Fiat 500 first appeared in 1957 and was produced through 1975 with relatively little change along the way. After a multi-decade hiatus, 2007 saw the rebirth of the 500, which eventually landed on U.S. shores as well with the return of the Fiat brand.
As for the special edition, only 250 will be made for the United Kingdom.
