Ahead of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, a handful of new details surrounding the off-road icon’s specifications have been leaked. Fans will be delighted to hear there will be plenty of customization options this time around, too.
JL Wrangler Forums has sourced the latest information after digging into the 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s order system. Foremost, there will indeed be three engines: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V6 and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. Transmission choices are a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic unit.
As for the trims, Jeep will slash the current 13 trims to just two for the Wrangler and three for the Wrangler Unlimited. Wranglers will see Sport or Rubicon trimmings, and Wrangler Unlimited models may be outfitted in Sport, Sahara or Rubicon. The Wrangler Unlimted Sahara trim also hauls in the full-time four-wheel drive system as well.
How about the big news? There will indeed be a power-folding roof, though it isn’t the hard-top roof that has been rumored in the past. Instead, it will be a power-folding soft-top roof. If that doesn’t tickle a buyer’s fancy, there are two other roof options: a traditional soft top and a three-piece hard top.
Wrapping things up are the customization options available for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. A total of ten different packages are available with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and the order system revealed Sahara and Rubicon trims will arrive with standard LED lighting.
As we said, there won’t be much longer to wait. the LA Auto Show is right around the corner and is set for this coming November.
