The 1969 Dodge Charger featured on Roadkill, better known as General Mayhem, has been around for quite some time now. It’s undergone a few transitions since we’ve first seen, but none have been as influential as the Hellcat swap.
The internet nearly erupted when this build first caught on, and rightfully so. It was the melding of the iconic looks of a first-generation Charger and mind-bending performance offered by the modern-day 707-horsepower Charger Hellcat. Even Mustang and Camaro die-hards have to admit that this Charger is something to marvel at.
So, in recognition of recent Roadkill festivities, and because this Charger is that cool, we decided to re-watch the grudge match between Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage in a 1967 Dodge Dart with a Hellcat engine and David Freiberger of Roadkill in the General Mayhem. The footage is from two years ago at Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge 2015, but it’s still just as entertaining.
