Mopar recently uploaded this video for 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid owners – or people like us – who want to know more about the functions and capabilities of the vehicle’s electric parking-brake (EPB).
The two-minute-and-twenty-five-second clip explains how the system works under manual and automatic settings, going over each step in engaging and disengaging the EPB. The video also clarifies that if rare and exceptional circumstances make it necessary to engage the parking brake while in motion, then one should push the switch for as long as engagement is desired.
Since the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid EPB is an electrical component, the system has a few enhancements over conventional mechanical systems. One such feature is something called SafeHold, which is a safety feature that will engage the parking brake automatically if the vehicle is left unsecured.
