As you probably know, the Woodward Dream Cruise Week has come and gone, and car enthusiasts embraced the event and culture wholeheartedly. In fact, the Woodward Dream Cruise has generated so much activity that recent news reports indicate it could potentially bring close to $240 million into the local economy, once the final numbers are in.
Kicking off the week was the Dodge-sponsored Roadkill Nights, a raucous day of exhilarating street racing, featuring everything from the Dodge Viper, Charger SRT Hellcat, and Demon, to the blown C2 Corvette that went home as “King of Woodward Avenue” and $10,000 in winnings.
If you’re unable to make it to the area this week and are curious to see what the atmosphere is like, this YouTube video uploaded by LEP Automotive offers some inside perspective as to what goes on. “We watch cars make loud noises,” jokes video host Brian, who owns a modified manual Cadillac CTS-V wagon.
Of course, he’s not wrong about folk getting caught up in the moment and putting on a little show. In fact, if you hit play you’ll get to watch one of the video makers rip a gnarly donut in the parking lot of a Krispy Kreme Doughnut in his Charger SRT Hellcat. Oh, the irony.
