There’s no denying that the Dodge Viper ACR is a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately there isn’t an official Nürburgring lap time for us to cite, though a crowd-funded effort did result in a lap time of 7:03.25.
Regardless, we know the Viper ACR is one of the most capable factory cars you can take to the track, and this video shows us how it fairs against the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Mid-Ohio Raceway. The driver of the ZL1 seems to be giving it all he’s got, but the Viper ACR’s superb grip pulls it away from the ZL1 through every curve. While the ZL1 boasts a mighty 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, the Viper’s 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, much lighter weight and superior downforce are enough to keep it out in front.
The 2-minute clip was exciting to watch, and for us it at least made this Wednesday morning a little more tolerable. Go ahead and click play to see this Dodge Viper ACR outperform a 2017 Camaro ZL1.
