We’ve seen mixed uses for Jeeps, from extreme off-roading, to drag racing. However, we can’t say we’ve seen a Jeep Wrangler built specifically for a 2-year African expedition, but that’s exactly what Dan Grec has done with his 2011 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.
This Jeep Wrangler has been customized from top to bottom, fitted with an Ursa Minor Vehicles J30 popup camper and two large solar panels to charge a second battery in the vehicle. And that’s just skimming the surface, the Wrangler was also equipped with various upgrades, such as:
- American Expedition Vehicle 2.5 lift kit
- AEV bumpers, skid plate, tire carrier
- AEV high-life mount. snorkel
- Mopar steel winter wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KOS All-Terrain tires (34×10.5R17)
- a fridge
- kitchen area
- fan for sleeping
As you can see, this Jeep Wrangler really is ready for the road. To hear more about Dan’s journey and see the phenomenal photography, click here.
