By comparison, you can find an actual Testarossa for sale online for around $120,000. Will it be in the same condition as this incredible riding toy? Probably not, but it would be road legal, and it would have a powerful 12-cylinder engine instead of a lawn-mower engine that’s only able to propel the vehicle up to 25 miles per hour.
Aside from the actual car, it is just about the coolest thing you could get for a young auto enthusiast. The attention to detail is still there, and the mini car actually has a leather interior, genuine Ferrari steering wheel, pop-up headlights, and functioning gauges. The doors, trunk, and hood all open and close as they would on the real-deal.
The toys were originally built 30 years ago for a luxury department store in London, called Harrods. Pricing then was about $45,000 each, but with such exclusivity prices have soared, and this particular one underwent a year-long restoration by Riddelsdell’s Garage in Boxford, Suffolk. Founded in 1900, it’s the oldest garage in Europe still in business.
We think this Ferrari Testarossa toy is pretty neat, and it has a rather interesting story behind it with its restoration. That said, we’ll stick to spending our imaginary money on cars we can actually fit in.
