As FordAuthority points out, the F-150 Raptor payload is said to be just 1,200 lbs. For comparison, the Ram Power Wagon’s is nearly 1,500. This means that the Ram Power Wagon can be used for off-roading adventures like the Raptor, but ends up being a bit more useful when it comes to hauling. This is especially important for Baja race teams who use such trucks as support vehicles to carry all of the equipment and gear they might need, including spare tires, parts, and tools.
Specific details are still a bit ambiguous at this time, such as the estimated payload of this Ford Raptor Super Duty, or even the configuration to be used. There’s also no word if whether or not the rumored Raptor Super Duty will offer a Power Stroke diesel engine as well as a gas variant. Currently the Ram Power Wagon is gas-only. We can otherwise assume heavy visual enhancements, structural upgrades and a mandatory suspension overhaul.
Ram Power Wagon fans, keep watch, you may have a new rival on the trails soon.
