Just this month, video emerged showing what appears to be a Dodge Charger SRT with a manufacturer plate, wearing the 11-inch wheels exclusive to the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody. This gives credence to the prospect that a broader Charger SRT Hellcat could be in the pipeline. The video, uploaded to YouTube by user “Sinister Life”, can be seen above.
The bulging fender flares of the all-new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody are a necessary part of the package, as they allow the car to wear its humongous new 305-section tires and not look a fool. Similar fender flares are missing from this test car, leading us to believe that the automaker is simply testing the wheel/tire setup before finalizing the necessary body panels.
This is the second time in three months that we’ve seen a manufacturer-plated Dodge Charger SRT wearing wider wheels than are currently offered from the factory.
What’s more unclear at this stage is whether the folks at Dodge/SRT will introduce a “Demon” version of the Dodge Charger, granting the sedan the same 808 horsepower (on pump gas) and 315-section rubber as the Challenger SRT Demon. With any luck, we’ll find out soon enough.
