The Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the SUV that the storied Italian brand is betting the farm on, earned a five-star Euro NCAP rating and achieved the highest score (97 percent) in its category for the protection of adult occupants.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio was praised for utilizing “extensive innovative safety features,” which include the segment’s first Integrated Brake System (IBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) with pedestrian detection.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio was also highly regarded for its “structural efficiency”. It’s rigid body shell is comprised of lightweight materials, including aluminum, aluminum composite, and carbon fiber. These lightweight bits help the base 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder model return up to 28 miles per gallon on the highway.
