Recent reports indicate that the next-generation Maserati GranTurismo is expected to arrive in the year 2020 with lush new looks and all of the latest tech, including the acclaimed ZF 8-speed transmission and a turbocharged engine.
Yes, unfortunately for die-hard NA V8 fans, the 2020 GranTurismo will more than likely implement forced induction. Though that doesn’t imply that the engine still won’t be sourced from Ferrari, as the 488 currently utilizes an award-winning twin-turbo 3.9L V8. Moreover, the 2020 Maserati GranTurismo is also expected to ride on a brand-new, all-aluminum platform. The lighter, stiffer architecture will also be used by FCA hybrid and electrified vehicles.
As for looks, the future Maserati GranTurismo will probably borrow styling cues from the Alfieri concept car (pictured above), which is good news to us, as the Alfieri is an absolutely stunning work of art.
For now, the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo is treated with refreshed looks as well as new tech, including a standard Harmon Kardon sound system and updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
