Ram has done a pretty great job at hiding its next-generation, full-size truck thus far, but one prototype seems to have been missing a little bit of camouflage while spy photographers were present.
The photos divulge the 2019 Ram 1500 and its new head and taillights, which look much more modern than the current units on today’s truck. The current Ram 1500 is the oldest truck from a U.S. automaker; both Ford and Chevrolet have updated their full-size pickups. However, that hasn’t stopped Ram from becoming increasingly competitive with its two rivals.
It’s difficult to make out any other details from the spy photos, but photographers stated the 2019 Ram 1500 still wore the familiar crosshair grille. It’s likely this truck doesn’t house every new piece or part just yet since the grille was supposedly identical to the current truck’s.
It is rumored that the 2019 Ram 1500 will arrive with an innovative new tailgate: one that folds out traditionally and one that opens horizontally as well. As for any other new features, we’ll have to wait until Ram is ready to reveal its next truck. That could take place at the 2018 North American International Auto Show.
