hereCraigslist is the go-to place for shopping for quirky, modified vehicles. We’ve seen all sorts of odd sheetmetal for sale on the online market, but it may have outdone itself with this Toyota 2JZ-swapped 1997 Jeep Wrangler.
When you think about it, this swap isn’t so radical. The Wrangler is already designed to accommodate an inline-six engine, but in the place of Jeep’s bulletproof 4.0-liter is the 3.0-liter 2JZ. What makes this build a bit outlandish and totally Craigslist appropriate, however, is the Spaniel-sized turbocharger sticking out of the hood. The engine only makes 350 horsepower despite the huge turbo, but the only thing holding it back from producing massive amounts of power is a stock ECU and fuel system, according to the listing.
Other mods include LED headlamps, an aftermarket grille, a billet steering wheel and front and rear bucket seats. The stock five-speed manual transmission remains untouched and is another component that would likely need upgrading if you wanted the 2JZ to produce a bit more horsepower.
