Hennessey Performance Engineering of Sealey, Texas got its start tuning up Dodge Vipers, but the company has since begun to focus on tuning General Motors Small Block engines for the most part. HPE also has a line of upgrades for the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, however, including a package that will boost its output to 850 horsepower.
HPE asks about $5k for its hPE850 package, which adds upgraded tuning software, a high-flow air induction system and a lower pulley upgrade for the supercharger to bring the boost to 14 psi. It might not sound like much, but it’s not hard to boost 707 horsepower, 6.2-liter Hellcat engine’s output to obscene levels.
Perhaps the best part about the HPE850 package is that it doesn’t ruin the drivability of the fairly comfortable Hellcat. Don’t believe us? You can watch HPE founder John Hennessey tool around in comfort and quietness in the car before stomping on the accelerator and unleashing all 850 horsepower in the video review embedded above.
