It’s been awhile since Gran Turismo fans have gotten a new video game to play. Gran Turismo 6 came out way back in 2013 and that game wasn’t even for next-generation consoles. Series founder Kazunori Yamauchi had initially said the game might arrive in late 2014 or sometime in 2015, but good things can’t be rushed, so he and his team extended the release date to 2017. Now it’s confirmed the game will arrive this Fall.
If you’re die hard about racing, Gran Turismo Sport is the game you’ve been waiting for. Not only will it be tailored to the most dedicated of motorsports enthusiasts like all entries in the series before it, but it will also feature an online championship series sanctioned by the FIA. Live eSports events and VR compatibility are also in store, along with real actual cars from Porsche (we’re no longer forced into a RUF!).
If you’re a Mopar or Fiat fan, there will also be plenty of fun things in store. It will feature just about every desirable performance car ever made, including FCA group stuff like the Alfa Romeo 4C, Dodge Charger Hellcat and Dodge Viper GT3-R. Check out the new teaser trailer embedded above before the game debuts later this year.
