50 years ago, Montreal hosted the Expo67 World’s Fair after Moscow bailed in its commitment to host the event. Organizer’s for the event commissioned Alfa Romeo to build a vehicle that would “express man’s ultimate aspirations in the field of motor cars” and to name it after the city. After hiring on Lamborghini Miura designed Marcello Gandini, Alfa showed up to the fair with the instant hit that we know today as the Alfa Romeo Montreal.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Expo67 and the debut the Alfa Romeo Montreal, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club is this year hosting a gathering in the French Canadian city dubbed the Alfa Expo. The event will be centered around the Montreal, of course, but Alfa owners of all types are encouraged to participate in the event.
The Alfa Expo will include tours of beautiful Monteal, a concourse event, time trials at a nearby track, an autocross, technical seminars and a mock rally. You can visit AlfaClub.ca for more information.
