Last year Fiat and high-end boat manufacturer Riva teamed up to produce the luxurious Fiat 500 Riva Edition. That model, while much more luxurious than your standard 500 Lusso, could only be had with the 500’s economy engines, but now the two manufacturers have partnered up on a performance version called the 695 Rivale.
The 695 Rivale will be offered in both hardtop and cabriolet bodystyles and will only be offered in the color combo seen here, which consists of Riva Sera Blue and Shark Grey paint with an quamarine beltline pinstripe. A vented rear moulding piece, satin chrome exterior elements and celebratory Riva logos serve as a nod to Riva boats and specifically the 56 Rivale.
Under the hood is the same 180 horsepower 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the standard Abarth 695, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission or the available MCT semi-automatic. The interior is set off with carbon fiber kick plates, wood or carbon fiber dash trim, a carbon fiber gear selector and blue leather seating. Other content includes an Akrapovic exhaust with carbon fiber tips, rear Brembo brakes and Koni suspension.
Just 175 Abarth 695 Rivale hardtops and 175 carbriolets will be built. Pricing has yet to be announced.
