Fiat Chrysler has priced the 2018 Dodge Demon from $86,090, with that price including the $1,700 gas guzzler tax and $1,095 destination charge.
As previously reported, much of the optional extras on the Demon will cost just $1. The ‘Demon Crate’, which enables owners to unlock the full 840 horsepower the Demon is capable of, is one of those $1 options. Some of the contents in the crate include:
- Two narrow, front-runner drag wheels
- Performance powertrain control module with high-octane engine calibration
- Replacement instrument panel switch module with high-octane button
- Personalized ID badge
- Conical performance air filter
- Two valve stems
- Passenger mirror block-off plate
- Demon-branded track tools:
- Hydraulic floor jack with carrying bag
- Cordless impact wrench with charger
- Torque wrench with extension and socket
- Tire pressure gauge
- Fender cover
- Tool bag
Other 1$ options consist of a cloth or leather rear seat, a cloth front passenger seat and the trunk carpet. Buyers can also spec red seat belts for $195, a black satin hood for $1,995, a painted Black Satin Graphics Package for $3,495 and a power sunroof for $4,995. A ‘Comfort Group’ is offered which adds Alcantara and Laguna leather seating, a heated steering wheel, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, premium floor mats and a Harman Kardon audio system for $2,495. A lesser ‘Comfort Audio Group’ is also available which adds a cloth front passenger seat, a Harman Kardon audio system and premium floormats for $995.
A total of 15 exterior colors will be available for the Demon: B5 Blue, Billet Silver, Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Go Mango, Granite Crystal, Indigo Blue, Maximum Steel, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Plum Crazy, Redline, TorRed, White Knuckle and Yellow Jacket. Production for the single model year vehicle is set to begin later this summer, with deliveries to dealers and owners set to commence in the fall. Despite its status as a road-legal drag racer, the Demon is still subject to FCA’s three-year/36,000-mile limited vehicle warranty and five-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage.
