The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah recently met up with Petrolicious founder Afshin Behnia to drive just a small portion of the cars that make up his large Alfa Romeo collection. His started with perhaps one of the more well-known Alfas in North America, the Duetto, before getting into some of the more sporty things, like Behnia’s 1974 GTV 2000, for example.
Compared to the Duetto, the GTV 2000 is right up Farah’s alley. As a performance driving enthusiast, he found the Duetto to be a soft and better suited to cruising. The GTV, however, is a race-bred car that Behnia’s upgraded with a roll cage and some period correct performance mods – giving it the motorsports-inspired character that Farah looks for in a sports car.
Farah said he’s always like the way the GTV has looked, but he had never driven one until climbing behind the wheel of Behnia’s. Hear what he has to say about the Alfa coupe in the video embedded above. Farah also had a spin in Behnia’s Alfa 8C, too, so be sure to check back for that video once he posts it to his YouTube channel.
